Description

These Apple Pie Bombs are a deliciously fun twist on traditional apple pie, packed with spiced apple filling and baked into warm, buttery biscuits. Coated in a sweet sugar and cinnamon mixture, these bombs are perfect for dessert or as a cozy treat with a cup of coffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar

  • 3 teaspoons apple pie spice

  • 1 can (8-count) Pillsbury Grand biscuits (not flaky layers)

  • 1 cup (243g) apple pie filling, with apples cut into small pieces

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

  • Mix Sugar and Spices:
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, apple pie spice, and cinnamon. Set aside.

  • Prepare the Biscuits:
Open the can of Pillsbury Grand biscuits and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit out slightly with your hands or a rolling pin.

  • Fill the Biscuits:
Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of apple pie filling onto the center of each flattened biscuit. Gently fold the edges of the biscuit over the filling, pinching the sides together to seal it into a ball.

  • Coat with Butter and Sugar Mixture:
Dip each apple-filled biscuit ball into the melted butter, then roll it in the sugar and spice mixture until fully coated. Place the coated biscuit balls into the prepared baking dish.

  • Bake:
Bake the apple pie bombs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

  • Serve:
Allow the bombs to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use homemade apple pie filling if you prefer.

  • For an extra indulgent treat, drizzle with a simple glaze made of powdered sugar and milk after baking.

  • These are best served warm, straight from the oven, but they can be reheated the next day.
