Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds chicken, shredded and seasoned with salt and pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ¼ cup salted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 12 Hawaiian rolls, sliced
- 12 slices provolone cheese
- ½ cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
- 1 tablespoon parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix the shredded chicken with barbecue sauce. Stir until the chicken is well coated.
- In another bowl, combine the melted butter, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried minced onion.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, leaving the rolls attached in one piece (like a sandwich loaf).
- Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the barbecue chicken mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
- Top the chicken with provolone cheese slices, then place the top half of the rolls on top.
- Brush the melted butter mixture evenly over the top of the rolls and sprinkle with parsley.
- Add thinly sliced red onion over the top, if desired.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes for a golden, crispy top.
- Slice into individual sliders and serve.
Notes
- You can use any type of cheese you prefer, such as cheddar or mozzarella, instead of provolone.
- These sliders can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, try adding a little hot sauce or jalapeños to the chicken mixture.
