Description

These Berries and Cream Filled Croissants are a delightful combination of flaky, buttery croissants filled with a rich, creamy mixture and topped with fresh berries. A perfect breakfast or dessert that’s indulgent yet simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 croissants (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional, for freshness)

Instructions

  • Prepare the croissants: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the croissants on a baking sheet. Brush them with melted butter and bake for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and crispy.
  • Make the cream filling: While the croissants bake, in a medium bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
  • Prepare the berries: In a small bowl, mix the fresh berries with granulated sugar (if desired) and lemon zest (if using). Let them sit for a few minutes to macerate and release their juices.
  • Assemble the croissants: Once the croissants are baked and slightly cooled, slice them in half lengthwise. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese filling onto the bottom half of each croissant. Top with the fresh berries.
  • Serve: Place the top half of the croissant on top, dust with powdered sugar (optional), and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use any combination of berries you prefer, or even other fruits like peaches or raspberries.
  • If you prefer a sweeter filling, you can add a little more powdered sugar to the cream mixture.
  • For a slightly tart twist, add a bit of lemon zest to the cream cheese filling.
