These Blackstone Loaded Smashed Potatoes are the perfect combination of crispy, creamy, and cheesy. Packed with savory flavors, crispy bacon, and a rich cheddar cheese topping, they are a must-try side dish for any occasion.
Ingredients
-
2 pounds baby potatoes
-
2 Tablespoons butter
-
3 Tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon sea salt
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
½ cup bacon bits
-
Optional Toppings:
-
Sour cream
-
Chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnish
-
Instructions
-
Cook the Potatoes: Start by boiling the baby potatoes in salted water until they are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and set them aside to cool slightly.
-
Smash the Potatoes: Once the potatoes are cool enough to handle, use a fork or potato masher to smash each potato into a flat disk.
-
Cook the Potatoes on the Blackstone: Preheat your Blackstone griddle. Add olive oil and butter to the griddle, then place the smashed potatoes onto the hot surface. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
-
Add the Toppings: Once the potatoes are crispy, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits on top. Allow the cheese to melt and the bacon to heat up.
- Serve: Remove from the griddle and top with sour cream and fresh chopped parsley or chives if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
-
You can adjust the toppings according to your preferences. For extra flavor, try adding sour cream and a sprinkle of your favorite herbs.
- This recipe works great with any type of potato, but baby potatoes provide the best texture for smashing.
