  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 pound green cabbage (1/2 medium head or 6 cups finely sliced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons dill, fresh or frozen, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons green onion, finely chopped, plus more to garnish
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese (1 1/2 cups shredded)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or similar-sized casserole dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, mayonnaise, flour, baking powder, and cornstarch until smooth and combined.
  • Stir in the salt, dill, and green onion.
  • Add the finely sliced cabbage to the mixture and fold until the cabbage is well coated.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set, golden on top, and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with additional chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger flavor, you can substitute the mozzarella with a sharp cheddar cheese.
  • For extra richness, add a tablespoon of butter to the mixture before baking.
