Description

A quick and effortless dessert, this Caramel Apple Dump Cake layers sweet apple pie filling with a buttery cake mix and luscious caramel sauce. Baked until golden and bubbly, it’s perfect served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (about 21 ounces each) apple pie filling

  • ½ cup caramel sauce, plus extra for serving

  • 1 box (13.25 to 15.25 ounces) spice or yellow cake mix

  • 1 ½ sticks (6 ounces) cold unsalted butter

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Spread the apple pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared dish.

  • Drizzle ½ cup caramel sauce over the apples.

  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apple and caramel layer.

  • Cut cold butter into thin slices and distribute evenly over the top of the cake mix.

  • Bake for 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce.

  • Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • For best results, use cold butter to achieve a crisp, golden topping.

  • Spice cake mix adds a warm, cinnamon flavor; yellow cake mix offers a sweeter, more neutral base.

  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
