Ingredients
-
3 tablespoons sugar
-
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
-
1/3 cup cherry jam or cherry pie filling
-
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
16 wonton wrappers (3 1/2-inch squares)
-
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together.
-
In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
-
Fold in the cinnamon sugar mixture into the cream cheese until combined.
-
Place one wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture onto the center of the wrapper.
-
Add about 1 teaspoon of cherry jam or pie filling on top of the cream cheese mixture.
-
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper over the filling, folding the corners in to seal tightly, forming an egg roll shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush each egg roll with melted butter.
-
Place egg rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
-
Wonton wrappers can be found in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores.
-
For a richer flavor, use cherry pie filling with visible fruit pieces.
-
These can also be fried for a crispier texture.
- Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
