Description

This Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole is a savory and hearty dish that combines fluffy crescent rolls, creamy eggs, gooey cheese, and savory ham with a hint of heat from jalapeños. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a comforting dinner, this casserole is simple to prepare and sure to satisfy everyone at the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (8oz) cans crescent rolls

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 6 large eggs

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 2 cups shredded cheese (I used Colby Jack and Cheddar)

  • 68 ounces thick-cut ham, cubed into ½-cm pieces

  • 12 whole jalapeños, deseeded and finely chopped

  • 2 teaspoons freeze-dried parsley

  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper

  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

  • Prepare Crescent Rolls:

    • Unroll the crescent rolls and line the bottom of the prepared baking dish with the dough, pinching the seams together to form one even layer.

  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, eggs, milk, ground pepper, and sea salt. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

  • Assemble the Casserole:

    • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the crescent roll layer.

    • Add the cubed ham, jalapeños, and freeze-dried parsley over the cheese layer.

    • Pour the egg and cream cheese mixture over the top, spreading evenly to cover all the ingredients.

  • Bake:

    • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set, and the top is lightly golden.

  • Serve:

    • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Serve hot for a delicious breakfast or brunch.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier casserole, feel free to add more jalapeños or even a pinch of cayenne pepper to the egg mixture.

  • You can substitute the ham with cooked sausage, bacon, or turkey if you prefer.

  • Add extra veggies like bell peppers, onions, or spinach for a more hearty dish.
