Description

This Easy Cinnamon Roll Casserole is a quick and delicious breakfast or brunch dish, perfect for a lazy weekend morning. With just 7 simple ingredients, you can create a warm, comforting casserole that’s filled with gooey cinnamon rolls and topped with a sweet, maple syrup and vanilla custard. It’s a cinnamon lover’s dream!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tubes refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 cinnamon rolls each — 351 grams or 12 oz)

  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter.

  • Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls:

    • Open the tubes of refrigerated cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters.

    • Arrange the quartered cinnamon rolls evenly in the greased baking dish.

  • Make the Custard:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon until fully combined.

  • Assemble the Casserole:

    • Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls in the baking dish. Gently press down the rolls to make sure they’re submerged in the custard.

  • Bake the Casserole:

    • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and cooked through. You can test the doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean, it’s ready.

  • Finish and Serve:

    • While the casserole is baking, you can prepare the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls.

    • Once the casserole is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the icing over the top.

    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to add toppings like chopped nuts, fresh fruit, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the custard mixture.

  • If you prefer, you can make this casserole the night before and refrigerate it. In the morning, just bake it as directed.
