Description

This Easy Cream Cheese Chicken is a rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy, cheesy sauce. It’s a quick and simple dinner that packs a punch of flavor, making it perfect for a busy weeknight meal or a comforting dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (if using), salt, and black pepper.
  • Sear the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet. Stir it until it starts to melt and become creamy.
  • Gradually whisk in the chicken broth to create a smooth sauce.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Cover the skillet and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

  • You can add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers to the sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • For a thicker sauce, add a little more Parmesan cheese or reduce the sauce slightly.
