Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups fresh spinach, washed and chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme, optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Vegetables: Clean and slice the mushrooms. Wash and chop the spinach.
- Sauté the Mushrooms: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they release their moisture and begin to brown, stirring occasionally.
- Add Garlic and Spinach: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another 1 minute until fragrant. Add the spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spinach wilts.
- Season the Dish: Season with salt, pepper, and thyme (if using). Stir in butter and balsamic vinegar (optional). Continue cooking for one more minute.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Vegetable Swap: You can use other greens like kale or arugula in place of spinach if preferred.
- Balsamic Vinegar: This is optional, but it adds a tangy depth of flavor.
- Butter: Adding butter will make the dish creamier, but it can be omitted for a lighter version.
- Fresh Thyme: If using fresh thyme, double the amount.
