Description
This easy-to-make graham cracker crust is the perfect base for your favorite pies, cheesecakes, or tarts. With a subtle sweetness from brown sugar and a hint of cinnamon, this crust is a deliciously crunchy foundation for any dessert.
Ingredients
-
1 ¼ cups graham cracker crumbs
-
¼ cup brown sugar
-
½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
-
⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and cinnamon powder.
-
Pour the melted butter over the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. The mixture should resemble wet sand.
-
Press the crumb mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish or tart pan. Use the back of a spoon to pack the crumbs firmly.
-
Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes or until it is lightly golden and set.
-
Allow the crust to cool completely before adding your filling.
Notes
-
If you want a firmer crust, you can press the crumbs more firmly into the pan or chill the crust for 15-20 minutes after baking.
-
You can also add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the crumbs for a chocolate-flavored crust.
- To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free graham cracker crumbs.
