Description

These Hawaiian Roll Breakfast Sliders are the perfect combination of savory breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, and melted Colby jack cheese, all nestled inside soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls. Topped with a sweet maple syrup glaze, these sliders are a great way to start your day or serve as a crowd-pleasing brunch option.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls

  • 16 ounces breakfast sausage

  • 6 large eggs

  • 4 ounces Colby jack cheese, sliced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Glaze:

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Prepare the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until fully browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat, then set aside.

  • Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet, scramble the eggs until fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  • Assemble the Sliders: Slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer the cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, and sliced Colby jack cheese on top of the bottom buns. Place the top halves of the rolls on top.

  • Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup. Brush the glaze evenly over the tops of the rolls.

  • Bake: Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.

  • Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, slice them into individual portions, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add some hot sauce or sliced jalapeños to the sliders before baking.

  • You can substitute the breakfast sausage with turkey sausage for a lighter version.

  • Feel free to add veggies like sautéed onions or bell peppers to the egg mixture for extra flavor.
