Ingredients
For the Brownies:
-
1 cup salted butter, melted
-
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
2 cups granulated sugar
-
4 large eggs
-
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Frosting:
-
¼ cup salted butter, softened
-
¼ cup 2% milk
-
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
-
Make the brownies: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
-
Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined.
-
Gradually stir in the flour until just combined.
-
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
-
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
-
Make the frosting: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and milk together. Stir in the cocoa powder until smooth.
-
Remove from heat and slowly add powdered sugar, whisking until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled brownies. Allow the frosting to set before cutting into squares.
Notes
-
Let the brownies cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
-
For a thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar as desired.
- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
