Description

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup salted butter, melted

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Frosting:

  • ¼ cup salted butter, softened

  • ¼ cup 2% milk

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 cups powdered sugar


Instructions

  • Make the brownies: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.

  • Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined.

  • Gradually stir in the flour until just combined.

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.

  • Make the frosting: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and milk together. Stir in the cocoa powder until smooth.

  • Remove from heat and slowly add powdered sugar, whisking until smooth and creamy.

  • Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled brownies. Allow the frosting to set before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Let the brownies cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.

  • For a thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar as desired.
