Description

This One-Pan Creamy Parmesan Chicken & Rice is a delicious, easy-to-make dinner that combines tender chicken breasts, creamy Parmesan sauce, and fluffy rice—all cooked in one pan for minimal cleanup. A perfect weeknight meal for the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then sear them in the pan for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
  • In the same pan, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  • Stir in the rice, chicken broth, and heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer.
  • Return the chicken breasts to the pan, placing them on top of the rice mixture. Cover and cook on low heat for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Once the chicken is done, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken and rice, stirring gently to combine.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can use bone-in chicken breasts, but the cooking time may need to be adjusted.
  • For extra creaminess, you can add more heavy cream or Parmesan cheese.
  • Be sure to check that the chicken is cooked through before serving. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
