These bite-sized treats pack all the flavors of classic pecan pie into a deliciously easy-to-make ball. With finely chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, and a hint of rum extract, these sweet bites are perfect for holiday gatherings or as a simple, indulgent snack.
Ingredients
-
2 cups pecans, finely chopped
-
⅔ cup graham cracker crumbs
-
¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
-
¼ tsp salt
-
⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
-
¼ cup pure maple syrup
-
½ tsp rum extract
-
1 tbsp light corn syrup
-
4 semi-sweet chocolate baking bars (4 oz), chopped
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and salt.
-
Add the melted butter, maple syrup, rum extract, and corn syrup. Stir until the mixture is well combined and has a dough-like consistency.
-
Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Melt the chopped semi-sweet chocolate baking bars in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted.
-
Dip each pecan ball into the melted chocolate, covering it completely, then place it back on the parchment paper.
-
Once all the balls are coated, refrigerate them for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve and enjoy these sweet, nutty treats!
Notes
-
You can refrigerate the balls for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
-
For a different twist, substitute the rum extract with bourbon or vanilla extract.
- These pecan pie balls can be served chilled or at room temperature.
