Description

These bite-sized treats pack all the flavors of classic pecan pie into a deliciously easy-to-make ball. With finely chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, and a hint of rum extract, these sweet bites are perfect for holiday gatherings or as a simple, indulgent snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecans, finely chopped

  • ⅔ cup graham cracker crumbs

  • ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup

  • ½ tsp rum extract

  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup

  • 4 semi-sweet chocolate baking bars (4 oz), chopped

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and salt.

  • Add the melted butter, maple syrup, rum extract, and corn syrup. Stir until the mixture is well combined and has a dough-like consistency.

  • Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Melt the chopped semi-sweet chocolate baking bars in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted.

  • Dip each pecan ball into the melted chocolate, covering it completely, then place it back on the parchment paper.

  • Once all the balls are coated, refrigerate them for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate hardens.

  • Serve and enjoy these sweet, nutty treats!

Notes

  • You can refrigerate the balls for up to 1 week in an airtight container.

  • For a different twist, substitute the rum extract with bourbon or vanilla extract.

  • These pecan pie balls can be served chilled or at room temperature.
