Description

Tender, juicy chicken thighs slow-cooked to perfection and smothered in flavorful BBQ sauce. This easy slow cooker recipe makes for effortless, mouthwatering meals with minimal prep, perfect for busy weeknights or weekend gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2.25 lbs chicken thighs, raw, skin-on and bone-in (about 46 thighs)

  • 3 tbsp BBQ seasoning

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (Hickory, Kansas City style, or your favorite variety)

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.

  • Rub the chicken evenly with BBQ seasoning, coating all sides.

  • Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the slow cooker in a single layer.

  • Pour BBQ sauce over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are covered.

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

  • For a caramelized finish, optionally transfer chicken to a baking sheet, brush with additional BBQ sauce, and broil for 3–5 minutes until sauce is bubbly and slightly charred.

  • Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use bone-in, skin-on thighs for maximum flavor and moisture.

  • Adjust BBQ seasoning and sauce to your preferred spice level.

  • Leftovers store well and can be shredded for sandwiches or salads.

  • Can substitute boneless thighs but reduce cooking time slightly.
