Description
This light and creamy strawberry mousse is the perfect sweet treat for any occasion. Made with fresh strawberries, cream cheese (or coconut cream), and a touch of vanilla, it’s a simple yet indulgent dessert that’s sure to satisfy your cravings for something fruity and rich.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese or coconut cream
- 4 oz yogurt or additional cream cheese or coconut cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar (or sugar-free alternative)
- 5 medium-sized strawberries
- Optional: 1/4 tsp vanilla bean paste
Instructions
- If using cream cheese, let it come to room temperature. If using coconut cream, open the can to ensure its contents are thick and creamy. Avoid using coconut cream that is hard or flaky as it will not work well for mousse.
- Remove the stems from the strawberries and blend or mash them until pureed.
- Add all remaining ingredients (cream cheese or coconut cream, yogurt, powdered sugar, and optional vanilla bean paste) to the pureed strawberries.
- Blend until completely smooth using a food processor, blender, or hand mixer.
- Transfer the mousse mixture to serving dishes and refrigerate.
- The mousse will thicken considerably as it chills, so allow it to set for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a dairy-free option, you can substitute the cream cheese with coconut cream and use a dairy-free yogurt alternative.
- If you prefer a sweeter mousse, you can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste, or use a sugar-free alternative if desired.
- Feel free to garnish the mousse with fresh strawberry slices or whipped cream before serving.
