Description

Crispy roasted cauliflower florets tossed in a sticky, sweet and spicy sauce made with honey, garlic, and sriracha. Garnished with green onions and sesame seeds, this dish makes a flavorful and healthy appetizer or side.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cauliflower:

  • 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

  • Cooking oil spray

  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon green onions, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

For the Sweet and Spicy Sticky Sauce:

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

  • 1 teaspoon gluten-free flour or cornstarch

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  • Toss cauliflower florets with cooking oil spray, garlic salt, salt, and pepper. Spread evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Roast cauliflower for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and tender.

  • Meanwhile, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), sriracha, hoisin sauce, and gluten-free flour or cornstarch in a small saucepan.

  • Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and becomes sticky, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.

  • Once cauliflower is roasted, transfer it to a large bowl and toss with the sweet and spicy sauce until evenly coated.

  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust sriracha amount to control spice level.

  • Use coconut aminos for a soy-free and gluten-free alternative.

  • Serve as a snack, appetizer, or side dish with rice or noodles.
