Description

A versatile and flavorful marinade perfect for tenderizing and infusing chicken breasts with a delicious balance of tangy, sweet, and savory notes. Ideal for grilling, baking, or pan-searing, this marinade enhances the natural juiciness of chicken for a crowd-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (or other vinegar)

  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/8 cup lemon juice

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard or spicy brown mustard

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 6 chicken breasts (about 3.5 lb)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl or resealable plastic bag, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, rosemary, mustard, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.

  • Add chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated.

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor and tenderness.

  • Remove chicken from marinade and cook as desired—grill, bake, or pan-sear until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  • Discard leftover marinade or boil if planning to use as a sauce.

Notes

  • Adjust brown sugar to taste for more or less sweetness.

  • Can be used with chicken thighs or other cuts with slight adjustment to marinating time.

  • Marinate no longer than 24 hours to avoid overly soft texture.
